ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS SCHEDULE

The adult Sunday school class will focus on a discussion of the “Book of Ether” within The Book of Mormon. The class will do a critical reading of the text and focus on “does this book convey the message of the church today?” Jonathan Bacon, class leader this Sunday, will also present “Ten Book of Mormon Generalizations” and an examination of Book of Mormon Themes, if time permits. If you haven’t already done so, please read The Book of Mormon’s Witness to Its First Readers by Dale E. Luffman, Chapter III and IV.

The next meeting of the All Good Books Club will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Leawood Pioneer Library (4700 Town Center Drive, Leawood, KS) to discuss The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls.

Sunday, February 16, 2014, 10:30 AM – A slightly different Prayer and Testimony service will feature congregational participation using clickers, music by the Mission Bells, a new hymn from Community of Christ Sings, plus time for reflection and response. Those attending will contemplate a projected statement about reconciliation, voice their support using clickers and then have an opportunity to respond with pray or by sharing your story about the theme. Jonathan Bacon will preside and Jane Landrum will serve as worship planner.

Sunday, February 16, 2014, after church – Potluck, celebrate with food and fellowship; bring cards and Valentine’s Day items for the children’s valentine boxes at the potluck.

Jane will wrap-up the discussion of Chapter 10 (“Redeeming Zion”) from The Journey of a People (Volume 1) by Church Historian Mark A. Scherer. Then Jonathan Bacon will lead a discussion of Ether from The Book of Mormon.
