If You Don’t Have a Facebook Account

If you’re not already on Facebook, you probably have a child or grandchild or friend who can show you how to setup an account and how to join the group. If not, try watching the Grovo tutorials on Facebook. There are several including “Signing Up for Facebook” at http://www.grovo.com/facebook-getting-started/signing-up-for-facebook

After watching that tutorial, check out the list of other free tutorials listed in the right margin under More on Facebook Getting Started.

Once you have a Facebook account, log in and check out our public page at http://facebook.com/missionroad.coc. The information posted on that page is for the general public. You’ll see the name of the page listed as Community of Christ – Mission Road.

To Join the Closed Congregational Group on Facebook

To join the “closed Facebook group” established for members of the congregation you’ll need to log into your Facebook account at www.facebook.com and use the search box to search for “Mission Road.” In the search results, under Groups, you’ll see Mission Road Congregation Members Only Group. This is the Facebook “closed group” and a place you can post prayer concerns, and other news specific to the congregation.

When you arrive at the page, click the Join button (by the group name). If you have difficulty, contact Jonathan Bacon at jonathanpbacon. Once you’ve joined (and one of the site administrators confirms your membership), you’ll thereafter see the Mission Road Congregation Members Only Group link in the left margin of your Facebook page. Click that link anytime to view the Group’s page.

Keep in mind that the public site (Community of Christ – Mission Road) is used for announcements and news meant for the public (everyone), while the Mission Road Congregation Members Only Group is for information intended just for congregational members (prayer lists, baby shower announcements, wedding announcements, budget updates, and so on).

Currently, the Facebook group includes 123 members and friends. Have you joined yet?
