UPCOMING EVENTS
BOOK CLUB MEETING THIS WEEK
This Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 7 PM the All Good Books group will meet in the Church Library of the Community of Christ church (7842 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208) to discuss "Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline.
For the May meeting (on Thursday, May 14, 2015) we have an opportunity to visit with Dr. William Reed, the author of "The Pulse of Hope: A Surgeon’s Memoirs from Poverty to Prosperity." So we’re rearranging our schedule to have Dr. Reed join us in May (thanks to the work of Eloise and John Snider). Other books on our schedule will be pushed forward a month.
"The Pulse of Hope" is only available at Rainy Day Books and is not available in local libraries (to the best of our knowledge) or on Amazon, so we’ve made arrangements to have copies available at out April 9 book club meeting. If you want a copy, please email me (Jonathan Bacon) and we’ll have a copy ready for you to purchase. The cost is $24.95 (includes tax) and checks should be made out to "Pulse of Hope" (that’s the foundation Dr. Reed has established). Payment by check only is available.
Please let me know ASAP if you want a copy, so we can have sufficient copies at the April meeting.
If you want to read or hear more information on "The Pulse of Hope" check out the radio interview with Dr. Reed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke4FHmnD-2c or visit his website at http://www.thepulseofhope.com/. There’s also a YouTube video about Dr. Reed and his life at https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=184&v=pzGnJq8DAwU
We hope you can join us in April for "Orphan Train" and in May for "The Pulse of Hope."

The World Church is requiring that everyone who works with the youth complete a training course.
