ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT ON DECEMBER 13
This coming Sunday evening, December 13, 2015 please join us for the Mission Road Christmas Concert at 6:00 PM. Let this Christmas Concert set the tone for your Christmas. Afterwards, gather in the Fellowship Hall for snacks and a songfest of songs of the season with a special visit from Santa. One thousand flyers have been distributed into the surrounding neighborhoods inviting the community to our Christmas Concert. Plus, bulletin inserts have been distributed to 8 of the surrounding congregations in the Mission Center. Come prepared to welcome friends and neighbors to our Christmas Concert.

“THE SECRET MESSAGE OF JESUS“ ADULT CLASS CONTINUES
The Adult Sunday School class has begun studying The Secret Message of Jesus: Uncovering the Truth that Could Change Everything by Brian D. McLaren each Sunday during the 9:30-10:15 AM Sunday school class hour. In class we’ll take a hard look at the message of Jesus; through new eyes and in-depth discussion. This is a view of Jesus’ message like you’ve rarely heard before…not the Jesus who embraces religion, but the Jesus who threw the moneychangers out of the Temple. Not the exclusive Jesus of many religions, but the Jesus who preferred beggars, prostitutes and the outcast to the rabbis, politicians and religious leaders of his day. We will study and discuss the radical, revolutionary Jesus who exposes shame, and ignites hope. It is an epic story of good news for everyone, whatever their gender, race, class, politics, or religion.
Jonathan Bacon, Paul Bennetts, Jane Landrum, Jennifer Libeer, and Dennis Wood will team-teach the class. Copies of the book can be ordered through Barnes and Nobel or Amazon.com. It is available in paperback or from Amazon.com for the Kindle.
The tentative schedule for the upcoming weeks includes:
Sunday, December 13, 2015: Chapter 8 (“The Scandal of the Message”) – class discussion led by Jennifer Libeer.
Sunday, December 20, 2015: No class due to Christmas Breakfast Potluck.
Sunday, December 27, 2015: Chapter 9 (“You Can’t Keep a Secret”) – class discussion led by Dennis Wood.
