UPCOMING MISSION ROAD CONGREGATION EVENTS AND PROJECTS

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS

The Central Avenue Center of Hope is in need of the following food items. Are you able to help? Spinach, Canned Chicken, Spaghetti Sauce, Beef Stew, Vegetable Soups, Rice, Rice side dishes, Pasta side dishes, Stuffing mix, Jelly, Juices, Plain Oatmeal.

Are you aware that the Center provided 12,828 kitchen meals last year? Did you know that the Pantry served 206 households last year or that school supplies were provided for 80 children? Also last year, volunteers from our congregation began serving a meal a month at the Center? Additionally, the Feed the Elderly program served 196 individuals!

There is a great need and maybe it’s time for each family in Mission Road to start bringing one food item each week for the Food Pantry. Can you imagine the impact it would have if each of us brought even one can of fruit or vegetables or a box of cereal or other staples each Sunday for the Food Pantry? And don’t forget that the Center runs a Thrift Shop too, so your still usable clothing, shoes, and household items can be donated!

NEXT MEETING OF THE ALL GOOD BOOKS GROUP

MISSED LAST SUNDAY’S SERVICE?

Would you like to hear the message from last Sunday or a Sunday service from 3 years ago? Audio recordings of many of the last several years’ worth of worship services are available online at https://goo.gl/wREl03. Note this is a new shortened URL that will take you to a Google Drive with many of the recordings from the past.

Recordings are located in folders corresponding to the year (2015, 2016, and so on).

If you missed a Sunday, this provides you a way to hear the music and the message.

The beginning numbers of each filename indicate the date of the service.

The first 4 digits represent the year; the next two digits indicate the month and last two digits represent the day of the month.

In most cases, the date is followed by a dash and then the first initial and last name of the speaker. Enjoy!

NOTE: If you experience problems playing these audio files be sure you’re running the latest version of your browser or try a different browser. In some cases, you may be required to download the audio file before playing it.

The following list includes some recent audio recordings:

12 March 2017 message by Avis Garrett-Baptist, filename 20170312-ABaptist.mp3

5 March 2017 message by Dorothy May, file name: 20170305-DMay.mp3

26 February 2017 message by John Wight, filename: 20170226-JWight.mp3

26 February 2017 Norman Bernauer Memorial Service, filename: 20170226-NBernauer.Memorial.mp3 This version is too large to play online but can be downloaded and played. A second version is playable online but with lower quality audio, filename: 20170226-NBernauer.Memorial.32.mp3

19 February 2017 message by Clint Reine, filename: 20170219-CReine.mp3

CONCERNING PRAYER REQUESTS

Please know that any member of the congregation can post prayer requests or share information about members and events on the Mission Road Members Only Facebook page. You do not need to send the information for approval to anyone. In fact doing so may slow down the dissemination of your request. Be sure to include the person needing prayers and what situation has occurred (if you wish to share that information). If your post concerns an event or news item, be sure to include the basics in your posting (such as who, what, where and when).

For prayer requests, if you do not have access to Facebook, then please call Paul Bennetts or John Trinkl Sr., our Congregational Pastoral Care Coordinators.
