SUCCESS IN HONDURAS
From Paula Rummel, HMA International Committee Chair:
I wanted to share with you about someone Saira Giron saw in her Honduras clinic. This young woman came in and Saira directed her to obtain a biopsy of this growth on her face. The report came back melanoma, which is the worst kind of skin cancer. The first price the surgeon gave them was completely out of consideration for this couple. Saira intervened and the surgeon reduced the price to $850 from $1500. A biopsy was done and confirmed the dreaded diagnosis. The family took out a loan creating a great burden on their finances so the surgery could be done.
This is where HMA and our Honduran Rural Healthcare Program stepped in. In the Program budget was included "Special Medical Needs Funds" of $500. Since these had not been expended for 2017, I authorized them to be used to help this family. While it did not take care of all the cost of surgery, it was enough to relieve some of the financial strain.
In 2 weeks Linda Drown (interpreter) and I will be traveling to Honduras to offer Saira another employment contract. We have seen the valuable work she has been doing this year and we want that work to continue.
This is where you come in. You generously supported the Program last year and we hope you have also been impressed with Saira, her skills, and her ministry, as I have shared in emails throughout the year.
Please be part of this Program, again for 2018! Funds can be sent to:

MISSED LAST SUNDAY’S SERVICE?
Would you like to hear the message from last Sunday or a Sunday service from 3 years ago? Audio recordings of many of the last several years’ worth of worship services are available online at https://goo.gl/wREl03. Note this is a new shortened URL that will take you to a Google Drive with many of the recordings from the past.
Recordings are located in folders corresponding to the year (2015, 2016, and so on). If you missed a Sunday, this provides you a way to hear the music and the message.
The beginning numbers of each filename indicate the date of the service.
The first 4 digits represent the year; the next two digits indicate the month and last two digits represent the day of the month.
In most cases, the date is followed by a dash and then the first initial and last name of the speaker. Enjoy!
NOTE: If you experience problems playing these audio files be sure you’re running the latest version of your browser or try a different browser. In some cases, you may be required to download the audio file before playing it.

CONCERNING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please know that any member of the congregation can post prayer requests or share information about members and events on the Mission Road Members Only Facebook page. You do not need to send the information for approval to anyone. In fact doing so may slow down the dissemination of your request. Be sure to include the person needing prayers and what situation has occurred (if you wish to share that information). If your post concerns an event or news item, be sure to include the basics in your posting (such as who, what, where and when).
For prayer requests, if you do not have access to Facebook, then please call Paul Bennetts or John Trinkl Sr., our Congregational Pastoral Care Coordinators.
