BUILDING COMMITTEE REPORT
The Building Committee has decided to replace the sidewalk from the parking lot to the main entrance to the church. The bricks have already been removed and the cement sidewalk will be extended to cover the area previously covered by bricks. Weather permitting, the new sidewalk will be poured this coming week. This is all in preparation for Phase II, which is the addition of a canopy over the main entrance to the church.
COMING SOON! ANNUAL MISSION ROAD CONGREGATION 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Mark your calendar and join us for the July 4th Congregational Picnic and Celebration with hot dogs, balloons, face painting, cotton candy, bounce houses and lots of fellowship!
Join us in our churchyard from 10 AM to 2 PM on July 4, 2019! If you would like to help contact Kennetha or Ron. Extra help is always needed for setup and close down, let them know you are available to help.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL TOPIC
Next Sunday, the adult Sunday school class will continue the study of “The Story of Christianity: The Reformation to the Present Day,” Volume 2, by Justo L. Gonzales. Jane Landrum will lead the discussion of Chapter 4 “Luther’s Theology.”
We still have a few copies of the paperback edition available for class members @$20 each. If you’re interested in a copy, they’re available on the bookshelf in the Church Library. Funds for the books should be added to your weekly offering with a notation that the additional donation is for the “Adult Class Book.”
NOISY OFFERING
Over the next month, we’ll have two offerings during each service: the regular one and a “noisy offering” for change that will go to Camp MITIOG. So, bring your checks, cash and noisy change so we can make a lot of noise for MITIOG. All funds up to $1,500 going to MITIOG will be matched by a grant fund.
If you wish to contribute directly, make checks payable to: CAMPS FOR KIDS and put “For Camp MITIOG” in the memo area. Checks may be mailed to: CAMPS FOR KIDS/MITIOG, 5919 Woodson Road, Suite 211, Mission, Kansas 66202.
ALL GOOD BOOK CLUB JUNE MEETING
The congregational book club will meet on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 7 PM in the Community of Christ Church Library to discuss “Night of Miracles” by Elizabeth Berg, a sequel to “The Story of Arthur Truluv.”
Discussion questions are available on the publisher’s website (https://bit.ly/2WYRYZU).
Also, at the last meeting, the book "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens was suggested for the upcoming schedule. The author will appear at Unity Temple on September 28, 2019, at 7 PM. We’ll be discussing her book at our September 19, 2019 meeting. You can find more information on Ms. Owens’ appearance on the Rainy Day Books website (https://www.rainydaybooks.com/DeliaOwens).
Future scheduled books for discussion can be found at https://allbooksclub.wordpress.com/meeting-dates-books/
All are welcome to join in the discussion.

MISSED LAST SUNDAY’S SERVICE?
Audio recordings of past worship services are available online at https://bit.ly/2MSgZW8. This is a short URL for a Google Drive folder with past recordings.
Recordings are located in folders corresponding to the year (e.g., 2017, 2018). If you missed a Sunday, this provides you a way to hear the music and the message.
Each audio recording begins with the date of the service (20190224 represents February 24, 2019). The date is followed by a dash and the first initial and last name of the speaker.
NOTE: If you experience problems playing these audio files be sure you’re running the latest version of your browser or try a different browser. In some cases, you may be required to download the audio file before playing it.

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITHOUT EMAIL OR FACEBOOK ACCESS?
If you know someone in the congregation that does not have email and does not use Facebook, please let Jonathan Bacon know. We’re trying to be sure everyone in the congregation has access to periodic news updates and information on congregational activities.
FOR FUTURE CHURCH CLOSINGS
In the future, if inclement weather forces the cancellation of church services at Mission Road, we’ll post the closing on our church Facebook page, send a message to the church email list and list the closing on KCTV Channel 5 and KSHB Channel 41.
Be sure to check the TV listings for either "Community of Christ – Mission Road" (KSHB 41) or "Community of Christ – Prairie Village" (KCTV5). The listing will be under one of those two names.
CONCERNING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please know that any member of the congregation can post prayer requests or share information about members and events on the Mission Road Members Only Facebook page. You do not need to send the information for approval to anyone. In fact, doing so may slow down the dissemination of your request. Be sure to include the person needing prayers and what situation has occurred (if you wish to share that information). If your post concerns an event or news item, be sure to include the basics in your posting (such as who, what, where and when).
For prayer requests, if you do not have access to Facebook, then please call Paul Bennetts our Congregational Pastoral Care Coordinator.
