CHRISTMAS TAKE DOWN PARTY
Saturday, January 8 at 9am come help take down our beautiful Christmas decorations. They really enhanced our Christmas season.
THANK YOU FROM THE PASTORS
The Birkbys want to thank the Mission Road Congregation for their generous Christmas gift. We do plan to do some traveling once the weather warms up. We are planning a brief trip right after Christmas to visit friends in Georgia we have been wanting to visit for some time. We have enjoyed serving the Mission Road Congregation during the past few years as your Pastors. We want to also thank all those that have served with us in the congregational leadership roles during our tenure. We know that sharing in a congregational leadership role gives you an opportunity to grow spiritually. We believe it has been a team effort and will always remain a team effort. Without your help and support, Mission Road cannot experience any success. We look forward to being able to step back and let others share their leadership skills. We will continue to support the Mission Road congregation in any way we can. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
COPYRIGHT LAW RULES
We are learning what the copyright laws are and how we display selections on screen and on Zoom. You may experience some changes in the way a worship service is prepared and what we can project. If a song or Hymn is listed on the screen but the words are not displayed; may mean we are restricted by the copyright laws for that song. The same will be true of things that we may find on the internet that we might want to use in a worship service. Those who are preparing a worship service will need to check with Roxann to confirm copyright laws for items you may want to use. Some selections may be restricted and cause you to select something different. Early worship service planning and preparation is important to include everything you may want to use in a Worship Service.
TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Please remember that church expenses continue. If you are not attending in-person please remember to support the church financially. Mary Reichenbach, the Congregation’s Financial Officer has indicated that contributions can be mailed to the church (7842 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208), or you can sign up for eTithing on the World Church website https://www.cofchrist.org/etithing). Any of these options will enable you to continue your regular contributions.
If you use the eTithing site, select the United States link and then scroll down to Mission Road Community of Christ. When you click on that page, there will be an option in the upper right-hand corner to ’sign up’ to create your account and enter either your bank account information for direct debit or a credit card to charge your contribution, or ’sign in’ if you have already set up your account. You may also choose a one-time contribution or a continuing contribution. Most of the contribution options on our tithing envelopes are available on the Mission Road eTithing page. If you have additional questions about electronic contributions, please contact Mary.
CONCERNING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please know that any member of the congregation can post prayer requests or share information about members, and events on the Mission Road Members Only Facebook page. You do not need to send the information for approval to anyone. In fact, doing so may slow down the dissemination of your request. Be sure to include the person needing prayers and what situation has occurred (if you wish to share that information). If your post concerns an event or news item, be sure to include the basics in your posting (such as who, what, where and when).
For prayer requests, if you do not have access to Facebook, then please call Paul Bennetts our Congregational Pastoral Care Coordinator or email Kennetha Kuttler at missionroadcc.
