Sunday, December 28, 2014, 10:30 AM – John O’Neal will speak on the theme “Guided by the Spirit” with Brian Libeer presiding. Brian will also serve as worship planner. Jennifer Libeer and Jane Landrum will offer the ministry of music.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS SCHEDULE
The Adult Class will conclude for now the discussion of The Book of Mormon and the Mark Scherer Church History volume 1. For the concluding session, the class will discuss “Book of Mormon Stories That Teach” and “Why We Should Use the Book of Mormon.” Jonathan Bacon will discuss the new adult class that starts in January 2015.
NEW ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS STARTS IN JANUARY 2015
The Adult Sunday School Class begins a new series of topics addressing “The Quest for Practical Spirituality” beginning on Sunday, January 4, 2015 during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:20 AM). The weekly exploration will delve into how Christianity and spirituality can help us live life more fully in today’s world. Some of the topics covered will include: “How to Connect with God,” “The Role of Pain and Suffering in Life,” “Why Are We Here?” “The Power of Your Thoughts,” “Forgiveness: Freedom From Hate,” “Success, Failure and Your Life Energy,” “Religion vs. Spirituality,” “The Right View and Becoming as Children,” and more. There will be no class text, but handouts and videos will kick-start class discussion. The class will be team taught by Jonathan Bacon, Paul Bennetts, Jane Landrum and Jennifer Libeer.
MITTEN TREE IS WAITING FOR YOU
Needed: Mittens, scarfs, coats, hats…any winter clothing. Please remember those in need during this very cold season of the year. All items added to the Mitten Tree will be donated to the Central Avenue Center of Hope for distribution to the homeless and needy.
CHURCH ART GROUP
In December, there will be no Art Group meetings because of the Christmas holiday. However, in January the meetings will resume and all are invited to the Church Art Group, which is held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of each month at the Avis and Jeremy Baptist Home from 6:00-9:00 PM. You do not have to be an artist to attend; only a willingness to try is necessary.

The beginning numbers of each filename indicate the Sunday of the podcast. The first 4 digits represent the year, the next two digits indicate the month and last two digits represent the day of the month. In most cases, the date is followed by a dash and then the first initial and last name of the speaker.
Podcasts from previous years are located in folders corresponding to the year (2005, 2006, 2007, and so on). If you missed a Sunday, this provides you a way to hear the music and the message.

ALL GOOD BOOKS GROUP
The book club will not meet in December. The next meeting of the All Good Books Club is at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Leawood Pioneer Library (4700 Town Center Drive, Leawood, KS) to discuss “The Aviator’s Wife” by Melanie Benjamin.

CHURCH UKULELE GROUP
No meeting in December, but will resume in January. Do you have a Ukulele in your closet or ever wanted to learn to play? You’re invited to join a fun, social group that learning to play the Ukulele!
