The Adult Sunday School Class begins a new series of topics addressing “The Quest for Practical Spirituality” beginning Sunday, January 4, 2015 during the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:20 AM). The weekly exploration will delve into how Christianity and spirituality can help us live life more fully in today’s world. Some of the topics covered will include: “How to Connect with God,” “The Role of Pain and Suffering in Life,” “Why Are We Here?” “The Power of Your Thoughts,” “Forgiveness: Freedom From Hate,” “Success, Failure and Your Life Energy,” “Religion vs. Spirituality,” “The Right View and Becoming as Children,” and more. There will be no class text, but handouts and videos will kick-start class discussion. The class will be team taught by Jonathan Bacon, Paul Bennetts, Jane Landrum and Jennifer Libeer.

For the January 4 class session, the class will include a burning bowl prayer offering. If you wish to participate, just mentally bring a prayer for the New Year or mentally consider a burden, issue or concern that you want to give to the Lord and never carry again. That is your homework assignment.
