HELP US HELP YOU
If you have news to share in the weekly church email newsletter, please write it out and send to Kennetha Kuttler or Larry Birkby by Noon on Sunday each week. It’s important that you include the basics about each announcement: Who, What, When and Where. If the information is incomplete, we cannot guarantee getting it in the newsletter in a timely fashion.

SUNDAY
IN-PERSON AND ON ZOOM The Mission Road Congregation will meet in-person in the church building and concurrently broadcast on Zoom. In the church building, social distancing with face masks will be required. We’re looking forward to seeing you all in church face-to-face, while Zoom will continue to be an option for both the Adult Class and the Worship Service. Our apologizes for the Zoom issues, the gremlins win sometimes.
Pre-baptismal class in children’s library 9AM – not available on Zoom
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL 9AM. The Mission Road Adult Sunday School Class will continue the study of “A History of God” by Karen Armstrong. The Marilyn Gairns will lead the discussion of Chapter 7 (“The God of the Mystics”). The class session now begins 15 minutes earlier at 9:00 AM in the Church Library and on Zoom.
WORSHIP 10:30 AM For Sunday, November 7, 2021, the worship theme is “Whole-life Stewardship.” Roxann Kosmicki will deliver the morning message. Clint Reine will preside and serve as the worship planner. Kennetha Kuttler will provide the PowerPoint and host the Zoom session assisted by Caryn Brown as co-host. You are invited to join us online or in the church sanctuary for worship starting at 10:30 AM.
ITEMS NEEDED FOR THE CENTER OF HOPE PANTRY
Our congregation serves an important role by providing household goods and clothing (new or gently used) and food for the Center of Hope. Please add the following drop off dates to your calendar. Members will be at church between 10 AM and noon on these dates to accept your donations!
Saturday, November 13, 2021
Saturday, November 20, 2021
Saturday, December 4, 2021
Saturday, December 11, 2021
In October, they served 221 meals.
The Center is especially in need of fruit cups, lunch sacks, cheese, hot dogs, soup, beans, rice, hot cocoa, gloves, hats, hand warmers, razors, boots, coats.
CENTER FOR HOPE THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS NEEDS
The Center is again planning for Holiday meals. The Thanksgiving meal will be on November 25 and Christmas meal on December 23. Like we have in the past couple of years we will be taking up special offerings until the Holiday season is over. It is easier for us as well as the CACH staff if we provide money. They can then buy what they need in the quantities they need. That way they don’t end up with too many Turkeys or Hams and not enough Corn or Beans and no Potatoes. So, during the next few weeks please add to your offering for Central Avenue of Hope. Mission Road can also help with a paper drive for the Center.
At the Christmas meal the Center will hand out gifts. Christmas gift ideas include:
socks, gloves, caps, personal items, and candy.
CACH will need gifts for 50 men, 30 women, 20 children age 1 to 10, and 20 youth age 11 to 16
Please mark the bag or box indicating who the gift is for. CACH is also going to do the Christmas Store Project and will need donations of toys, clothes, books, socks, gloves, caps etc.
SAVE THESE DATES
A Worldwide Conference Preparation Event is scheduled for June 9-11, 2022.

TITHES AND OFFERINGS
Please remember that church expenses continue. If you are not attending in-person please remember to support the church financially or mail to the church at 7842 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208
If you use the eTithing site, select the United States link and then scroll down to Mission Road Community of Christ. When you click on that page, there will be an option in the upper right-hand corner to ’sign up’ to create your account and enter either your bank account information for direct debit or a credit card to charge your contribution, or ’sign in’ if you have already set up your account. You may also choose a one-time contribution or a continuing contribution. Most of the contribution options on our tithing envelopes are available on the Mission Road eTithing page. If you have additional questions about electronic contributions, please contact Mary.
CONCERNING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please know that any member of the congregation can post prayer requests or share information about members, and events on the Mission Road Members Only Facebook page. You do not need to send the information for approval to anyone. In fact, doing so may slow down the dissemination of your request. Be sure to include the person needing prayers and what situation has occurred (if you wish to share that information). If your post concerns an event or news item, be sure to include the basics in your posting (such as who, what, where and when).
For prayer requests, if you do not have access to Facebook, then please call Paul Bennetts our Congregational Pastoral Care Coordinator or email Kennetha Kuttler at missionroadcc.
DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITHOUT EMAIL OR FACEBOOK ACCESS?
If you know someone in the congregation that does not have email and does not use Facebook, please let Roxann or Kenne know. We are trying to be sure everyone in the congregation has access to periodic news updates and information on congregational activities.
