Sunday, August 25, 2013, 10:30 AM – Kyle Joyce will speak on the theme “Compassionate Witness” and offer (with assistants) a report on Camp! Clint Reine will preside and serve as worship planner. Jean Bink and Susan Clark will offer the ministry of music.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS SCHEDULE
The adult class has begun studying “The Journey of a People” by Church Historian Mark A. Scherer (on the first and second Sundays of each month) and also focusing on “Investigating the Book of Mormon” (on the third, fourth and fifth Sundays of each month).
Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 9:30 AM – the class will continue discussion of the Book of Mormon plates and timeline as well as discuss the purpose and provenance of the book. Please bring your Book of Mormon (we’ll review some portions of “The Words of Mormon” and the “Book of Mosiah”). For those who have the Alan D. Tyree text (“Millions Call It Scripture: The Book of Mormon in the 21st Century”) read chapters 1 and 2. The Tyree book is not required but for those interested; it is available from Herald House for $19.95. Additionally, we’ll also cover some material in “The Book of Mormon’s Witness to Its First Readers” by Dale E. Luffman. If you have the Luffman book, please read chapter 3. Jonathan Bacon will lead this class.
Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 9:30 AM – the class will continue discussion of Mark A. Scherer’s “The Journey of a People, Volume I.” The book is not required but for those interested; the two volume set is available from Herald House for $59.95. If you have the books, please read chapters 1-2. Jane Landrum will lead this class.
