Thursday, June 13, 2013, 6:00 PM All Good Books group will meet in the Church Library for a potluck and viewing of the movie “Cloud Atlas.” If you haven’t read the book, you’re encouraged to do so (but it’s not required to attend).  

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS SCHEDULE

Starting this Sunday, the Adult Class will begin studying “Signal Communities…Reflect Christ’s Peace” (a text recommended by the World Church). Copies are available on the table in the Fellowship Hall. Take a copy and if you’re able, please add the $12 cost to their regular congregational offering.

The Adult Sunday School class meets from 9:30-10:15 AM each Sunday and it has one lesson (#6) remaining in “Christ’s Mission Is Our Mission.” Due to teacher availability, we’re postponing that lesson until June 2, 2013.

This Sunday the class will devote the class period to questions and answers about the actions and recommendations of the two conferences. All delegates are invited to attend to respond to questions posed by class members. Jonathan Bacon will moderate the session and have documents available (daily bulletins, the Conference legislation packet and so on) for reference.

Note also that copies of “Signal Communities…Reflect Christ’s Peace” (a text recommended by the World Church) will be available this Sunday during the Adult Sunday School class. This is the text we’ll begin studying on June 9, 2013. The cost is $12, class members are encouraged to take a copy and add the cost of the booklet to their regular congregational offering.

Adult Sunday School Update

Easter Weekend Details:

Please join us for the Good Friday Service at the church on Friday, March 29 at 7:00 pm. The service will include music by the Mission Bells and Saints Chorale. The theme for the service will be “Forgiveness.” 

Easter Morning (Sunday, March 31, 2013) activities will begin at 9 am with our Annual Easter Breakfast Potluck followed at 10 am with the Annual Easter Egg Hunt!  For the potluck bring your favorite breakfast dish or item to share (egg dish, fruit, bacon; you name it)!  Cinnamon rolls and beverages will be provided.

Because of the Breakfast Potluck and Easter Egg Hunt, there will be no classes for adults or children on Easter Sunday; just activities for the children, a chance for the adults to watch and lots of good conversation.

The Easter morning message (10:30 am) will be offered by Jennifer Libeer. We look forward to sharing this holy Easter season with you.

Adult Sunday School Schedule:

Starting March 17, the Adult Sunday School class agenda will focus on two texts that the World Church is recommending. Both are suggested for delegates or those attending the World Conference or the USA National Conference as well as congregational study. The publications are:

  • “Christ’s Mission Is Our Mission: An Exploration of Luke 4:16-30” with six lessons by Peter A. Judd
  • “Signal Communities…Live Christ’s Mission” with six lessons, each with a different author.

We’ll have copies of the first text (“Christ’s Mission Is Our Mission”) available this Sunday, March 17 during the Adult Class Hour. The cost is $12, so class members are encouraged to take a copy and add the cost of the text to their regular congregational offering.

The plan is to cover each of the six lessons in one Sunday class session each. After finishing the “Christ’s Mission” text, we’ll spend the next 6 Sundays studying the “Signal Communities” text. Copies of “Signal Communities” will be available as we near completion of the first text. We have some special events (conferences and Easter) coming up so, here’s the planned schedule.
